Two years after its cinema release, Mildred Okwo’s “The Meeting” continues to break new ground. The Meeting has become the  first and only African film to show at the International Comedy Film Festival which took place in Stockholm, Sweden from October 23 – 26, 2014. The film festival featured films from France, Italy, India, Mexico, Isreal, Belgium, Austria, China, Hongkong, Iran, Iraq, Palestine and Nigeria’s The Meeting.

From all accounts, The Meeting was very well received by the festival audience. Speaking on how the film got a nod to be screened at the festival, the director Mildred Okwo stated ” I was surprised to get a call from someone at the Nigerian embassy in Sweden. They informed me that the folks at Sterk Production were looking to screen a film from Nigeria and insisted that it must be The Meeting”. “I like the fact that the goal of the festival is to understand and show swedish audiences what other people from around the world find funny” .

The Meeting is The Audrey Silva Company’s debut film produced by TASC’s dynamic directors Mildred Okwo and Rita Dominic.
